Indian Fish Meal & Fish Oil Report WEEK 38

Indian Fish Meal & Fish Oil Report  WEEK 38

A bad week after 3 good weeks for Indian producers . Landings have dropped down sharp with only 3-4 manufacturers  seen operating during week 38. Raw fish price shooted back to 21Rs/Kg (303USD/Mt) . Adding to this problem the largest domestic buyer CP Aquaculture has reduced its price from 90Rs to straight down to 75Rs/Kg (1135USD/MT) in just  7 days.  We expect other Feed mills to take advantage of this and pay slightly higher than CP Aquaculture to fill in their requirment for coming months .

300 MT  from Morocco and 10 Mt from China has been imported to Mangalore and Nhavsheva port respectively last week .

6.General News

Since the price has been reduced by CP Aquaculture there is a strong possibility that there could be possibility of Indian fish meal export soon to far east countires . However as per current trend we feel the other feed mills in India will try to buy the stock before the price goes up again . But it will be slower than last year .
Seafood farmers in India are not planing for second crop of Shrimp this year due to fall in exports and price.Hence demand from doemstic buyer for fish meal could be very slow.

Indian Fish Meal & Fish Oil Report WEEK 36 & 37

Indian Fish Meal & Fish Oil Report  WEEK 36 & 37

We are back after two weeks . 15 days of mixed response from Indian producers with raw material price ranging from 18.5Rs to 21.50Rs .Last week the price ended at 20Rs/Kg (303USD/MT) .Low availability and landing has resulted in such high price of sardines from Kerala region . With this trend we see very difficult possibility of exports of Fish Meal until end of this year . Domestic price seems to have dropped down to 97Rs-99Rs/Kg for 60%CP Fish Meal . There is also information about imported fish meal being sold at domestic market at price as low as 90Rs/Kg.

992 MT of Fish meal has been cleared at Mangalore port last week valued at 590USD/MT .But we know for the fact that this is not the correct value . According to our sources the price should be beween 1250-1350USD/MT.

6.General News

Large rejection of Indian Shrimps from US FDA has lead price to fall down drastically for Indian processors resulting a downfall in price of farmed shrimps in India . Approximately 500 acres of farm has been left abandoned by Indian Shrimp Farmers in  'Prakasam' area in Andhra Pradesh . The down fall of Indian Shrimp could result in reduce in demand of shrimp feed ,Ultimately resulting in lower price of Fish Meal in domestic market in coming weeks . However this is very early to come into such conclusion .
